Map Delivery for Fleet & Video Telematics

Abalta Map Delivery Network

Fresh maps on every platform and device in your fleet.

Abalta MDN is a cloud service that delivers HERE map content to fleet and video telematics platforms. It compiles optimized map packages for each device, sends only the tiles that changed, and serves location APIs at scale, so every vehicle runs on a current map.

Every event a fleet camera records is tied to a road, an address, and a posted speed limit — and that context comes from the map.

Map data is hard. Delivering it to a fleet is harder.

Map content changes every week. Roads open, speed limits change, and every region arrives in a different shape. Abalta takes that complexity off your roadmap: we ingest each HERE release, enrich and compile it to your specification, validate it, and deliver it on your schedule.

Abalta MDN turns that into one service: dependable location context for every trip and every event, whether your platform calls an API in the cloud or a device in the cab works from compact map tiles.

What Abalta MDN delivers

HERE Map Data Delivery

Scheduled ingestion and delivery of HERE Map Content releases, tailored to each customer's regions, data layers, and update cadence, so every platform in your stack runs on the same current map.

Map Matching & Geocoding

Snap raw GPS traces to the road network and enrich every event with addresses, car and truck speed limits, road class, and the other attributes that safety scoring and driver coaching depend on.

Compact Map Tiles

Lightweight tiles sized for the constrained storage of dashcams and in-cab units. Devices hold only the tiles around the vehicle, so there is no full onboard map to store, maintain, or let fall out of date.

Release QA & Validation

Automated checks and expert review on every map release before it reaches the fleet, with reports your team can audit and a clear record of what changed between versions.

Low-Latency Location APIs

Geocoding, reverse geocoding, map matching, and speed-limit lookups built for high-volume telematics traffic, and fast enough to sit inside a real-time event pipeline without slowing it down.

Global Coverage

North America, Europe, and beyond on one consistent schema, so expanding into a new region means switching on coverage rather than building and maintaining a second integration.

How it works

One cloud service for every map your fleet needs.

Fresh HERE map content comes in. Abalta MDN normalizes, enriches, compiles, and validates it, then serves it through APIs and versioned map packages to your platforms and devices, worldwide.

Versioned releases

Every release is pinned, documented, and reproducible, so you always know which map is in production.

One schema, every region

The same data model across countries, so a new market is a configuration change rather than a project.

Two decades of map expertise

Quality gates on every build, backed by Abalta’s 20+ years of navigation and map engineering.

Incremental tile updates

Maps that follow the vehicle.

Vehicles don’t carry a full onboard map. Abalta MDN delivers compact map tiles for the area around each vehicle as it drives, replaces the oldest tiles as new ones arrive, and refreshes a tile only when it has changed in the cloud.

Tiles already on the device keep working through cellular coverage gaps on repeat trips.

  1. 1

    Tiles load around the vehicle

Only the map near the vehicle is downloaded — there is no full onboard map to store or let go out of date.

  2. 2

    New tiles arrive ahead

As the route continues, the next tiles are fetched before the vehicle needs them.

  3. 3

    Old tiles are replaced

The least recently used tiles make room for new ones, so storage stays small on constrained devices.

  4. 4

Updates only when the map changes

A tile on the device is refreshed if, and only if, the same tile has been updated in the cloud.

Speed limits for fleet safety

Accurate speed limits, for safer roads and fairer coaching.

Nearly 30%

of US traffic fatalities involve speeding as a contributing factor.

Car and truck speed limits

Posted limits for passenger vehicles and trucks, matched to the road the vehicle is actually on.

Real-time speed alerts

Monitor driver speed as it happens and alert when a configured threshold over the limit is exceeded.

Look-ahead and post-trip analysis

Anticipate limit changes along the route, or review completed trips to coach drivers on their habits.

Fair to drivers

No aging onboard map that can wrongly flag a driver for speeding — every tile reflects the latest release.
