Software
Engineers (San Diego, USA)
Description
Abalta Technologies, Inc. is seeking Software Engineers to join its
engineering team in San Diego. Our Software Engineers must be able to
work independently or in a team to provide software design and
development services to our customers. While our Software Engineers
spend the majority of their time at our facility in San Diego, all our
Software Engineers are customer facing and will travel onsite to
customers from time to time.
Requirements
The following are the mandatory requirements. The candidate must:
• Have minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience developing solutions using
C/C++ using object oriented design methodology.
• Have a BS or MS in CS, CE, or EE or the equivalent in years of
experience.
• Have proven experience with best practice software design and
implementation.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be self-motivated. Must be able to anticipate problems, spot
opportunities and take a proactive approach to responsibilities.
• Have first-rate problem solving skills.
• Be able to keep to a schedule and work to meet deadlines.
• Be motivated to continue to learn new skills.
• Have strong interpersonal skills to facilitate working within a team
and with the customer.
• Be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Have familiarity with Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word
and Excel.
One or more of the following additional skills are highly desired:
• Experience with development on embedded real time operating systems (QNX,
Embedded Linux, etc).
• Development experience with Windows CE
• Experience with STL, MFC, JAVA and C#.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET application
development
• Experience with SQL or Oracle Databases
The ideal candidate would possess the following additional skills
• Experience with digital map compilers, geospatial algorithms or GPS
application software.
Primary Responsibilities
• Software subsystem design and implementation
• Documentation of software design
• Attend code and design reviews as necessary
• Interact with customers
• Help drive the technical direction of the engineering group in the
following areas:
• Coding standards and guidelines
• Best practices in Software Engineering
• Provide assistance to other engineers in a constructive manner that
will promote productivity.
Other responsibilities
• Participate in the planning and development of the technical culture
